The Crofton Women’s JV soccer team moved to 3-0-0 on the season after a hard fought win this afternoon against a talented and skilled Arundel High Wildcats squad. Sophomore Cassidy Nichols (#5) opened the scoring for the Cardinals in the 9th minute and would then score again in the 12th minute to put the Cardinals up 2-0. Sophomore Meghan Piazza (#4) made it 3-0 in the 18th minute with a strike from 30 yards out that found the upper 90. The 2nd half saw Nichols score her third goal of the game in the 47th minute to become the first player in Crofton women’s soccer history to notch a hat trick. Piazza would close out the scoring for the Cardinals in the 69th by cleaning up a loose ball in the box off a free kick by Nichols. The Lady Cards will face South River next Tuesday, April 6th at 4PM at the Crofton High School Stadium Sports Complex.
