The Crofton High School women’s JV soccer team moved to 6-0-0 on the season by overcoming a very defensive-minded and feisty Annapolis High School team this afternoon. The score was knotted at 0-0 for almost the entire first half until freshman Arya Shah (#6) broke the deadlock just before the halftime whistle in the 33rd minute with a strike from just outside the box to put Crofton up 1-0. The Cardinals struggled to breakdown the Annapolis back four all afternoon and it took an amazing shot by freshman Abby Makela (#26) three minutes into the 2nd half to give the Cardinals the lead at 2-0. The final goal of the game saw freshman Arya Shah (#6) once again score from just outside the top of the box to put the Cardinals up 3-0. Freshman keeper Abby Makela and sophomore keeper Allyson Chelidona (#30) combined for the shutout on the afternoon and this was also the fifth straight clean sheet for the Cardinals who will close out their spring season on Thursday, April 15th at 4PM at the Crofton High Stadium Sports Complex against Broadneck High.
