Crofton High School has hired Christine Bickel to lead the swim program. Coach Bickel is a native of Prince George’s County where she began swimming competitively at the age of seven and continued through college. She was formerly the head coach for Kettering Swim Club in the Prince-Mont Swim League and for Bishop McNamara High School in the Washington Metropolitan Prep School Swim and Dive League. She holds certification as a USA Swimming Official and volunteers regularly as a stroke and turn judge for Crofton Swim and Tennis Club.
“Coach Bickel brings a strong vision for the swim team. She has a successful history in the sport at many levels as a coach and official,” said Crofton High School Athletic Director Jeff Martin. “Coach Bickel’s focus on developing skills will have an immediate impact on our swimmers and elevate our program quickly.”
Coach Bickel is currently a health educator at Annapolis High School and has nearly 20 years of experience in education. As a resident of Crofton, she is looking forward to becoming part of the Crofton High School family and building a competitive program.
